Rowan

Rowan is my character. He dwells with me.

Age: 109 HUMAN years.

Character Type: Rowan is a Wood Elf. He came as an ambassador from the elven race, to negotiate with us [about our disrespect for the Surface Trees*]. Wood Elves live somewhere deep within the Earth that they call Eden.

Abilities: Nothing too drastic, but Rowan will turn into a tree if he stays on the surface to long. Therefore, every month he makes a regular voyage home.

Most Prominent Trait: Where humans would have hair, Rowan has something that resembles leaves.

Other Traits: Rowan talks way too much! He can [and will] go on for hours and hours. However, this rarely is a problem, because Rowan has a great sense of humor. Granted, his jokes will get old. Rowan has a very serious case of Lachanophobia [the fear of vegetables]. Not when they are fresh- of course. Only when they are cooked. Luckily for him, he never gets anywhere near cooked vegetables, due to the fact that Rowan does not eat like us. Instead, he literally goes out for an hour each day and soaks up the sun. Actually, not the sun, but the thermal energy it puts off [don't worry, there will be more on this in a later blog]. Rowan writes music, and has sold his songs to several popular artists that I am not legally allowed to list here.

What He Looks Like: Rowan is very hard to physically describe. We will start with the mental image of a tree. Now, [I know this is hard], but bend this tree into a human body-like shape. Stay with me. The tree now has a human face [ complete with eyes, nose, mouth, and ears]. The leaves soften out a bit, but not so much as to resemble hair too closely. There you have a generic Wood-elf. Rowan, however, when coming as an ambassador, also went through the process of “loosing” his bark. It wasn't actually lost, but it became more of a clothing than a shell. Obviously, he has changed out of the bark since then. Most wood elves have Dull green or deep black eyes, but apparently Rowan is a special case. His left eye is blue, while his right eye is grey.

Always Wears: Rowan doesn't have any article of clothing or accessory that he is particularly attached to, but, when he underwent the bark loss sequence, something went wrong, and there is a patch of bark remaining on his left cheek.

Quirks: As I previously mentioned, Lachanophobia. Other than that, Rowan has no quirks.

*I can not put the entire history of the elves into a singular note at the bottom of Rowan's description. I CAN, however, write it later in a separate blog. To answer the questions you probably have right now [briefly]: Surface Trees are just what we call trees today. Long ago, in elven History, it is said that the Earth was flat, the Core of it in the smack dab center, and all the continents orbited around it. The elves thrived on the surface. Then, the sun was born. It's light energy literally paralyzed the elves so unfortunate to not be close to the Core. The earth dried up and twisted, becoming round, and all of the elves lucky enough to live near the Core where swallowed up in it's depths. The paralyzed trees became today's Surface Trees. I understand that this is confusing, but, I PROMISE that I will explain it all in detail later.

Etherr

Etherr is my character. She dwells with me.

Age: 6 years old. She's a tiny tot!

Character Type: “Dream Ghost” Although Etherr is technically mortal, when she sleeps she infiltrates others' dreams, controlling them however she wants.

Abilities: Like I said, she controls other peoples dreams at night. Being only 6 however, this usually results in pranks and tea parties.

Most Prominent Trait: Mischievous- Think of the power she handles every night. What would YOU do with it?

Other Traits: Etherr is extremely intelligent for her age, but that's cuz she just sees so much at night. She loves to sing and rhyme. Etherr is not allowed to attend school because of her “talent”. Lot's of kids find her creepy and obsessive over night, but they would be, too, if they lived like Etherr. With great Power comes great Responsibility, and Etherr is definitely Responsible and Independent.

What She Looks Like: Etherr is 3'5”, has long hair so blonde it almost looks white, and large blue eyes. People often remark on how cute she is, but later still remark on the odd, vacant expression usually plastered on her face. She has pudgy cheeks, but otherwise an average build for a small child.

Always Wears: Before her mother abandoned her*, she tied a small blue dream-catcher around Etherr's ankle. Other than that, Etherr has no set outfit, being one of those children who wants a chance to wear EVERYTHING. That includes raiding Corrin's closet when he's not paying enough attention to her. [Which doesn't happen very often- you will almost always find the two together, except when Corrin leaves on one of his “adventures”]

Quirks: Other than being totally obsessed with night, Etherr only has a few small quirks. She reads more graphic novels than ANYONE should, especially a small child. Because of this, she will sometimes randomly swear or say something mildly suggestive, and an adult will berate her. Etherr loves calligraphy and will spend hours on end practicing, then proudly showing her work to Corrin.

Corrin loves to tell Etherr stories, and she loves to hear them. However, Etherr often makes Corrin tell her stories about gypsy caravans, being that she came from one. Corrin claims that he could write a six-novel series already about The Gypsy Girl Ester and her amazing adventures.

*Because of Etherr's gift, her mother was scared that she would bring bad luck to her Caravan, and mistakenly left Etherr in a basket on the doorsteps of an old abandoned mansion. Etherr would have starved to death if not for a small boy [who was apparently dared to spend a night in the mansion] hearing her wails and taking her to the police. She was adopted by a kind foster family, but after enduring only a year of her gift, they gave Etherr back to the local orphanage, where she grew to be near four. Etherr was then adopted by a lonely single woman, who shortly there-after committed suicide. Etherr was landed back in the orphanage, where she spent only a few months until they kicked her out, for scaring the other kids. Once again, she found herself wandering back to the old mansion, where, luckily, Fiora found her while she was “House-Hunting” for our gang. Etherr fits in really well considering, and all of us love her. It's hard to put up with her "gift" sometimes, but we do it anyway. Besides, there are definitely always funny stories to tell in the morning!

Corrin

Corrin is my FIRST character I ever met. He dwells with me.

Age: 19 years old, give or take a few months.

Character Type: Corrin is just your average teenage boy.

Abilities: Corrin is a superb storyteller, though. He's really good with kids, and loves to be around them, teaching them about humanity, playing games with them, and snuggling them. He can make people cry his Piano playing is so beautiful.

Most Prominent Trait: Corrin is blind.

Other Traits: Corrin is a Creative, Fast Thinker, and loves to learn. Even though he can't see, he plays the Piano and Guitar. Corrin loves to laugh. He is awkward around most people, except for those he knows and children. He can be really stubborn, and is a fighter.

What He Looks Like: Corrin is 5'7”, and rather frail looking. He never was one for physical appearance [gee, I wonder why!], and I honestly don't think he cares what he looks like. He has a haircut that makes him look like he is related to The Beatles. He has black hair, and cloudy goldish brown eyes. Little kids are afraid of him at first, but as soon as he speaks to them, they love him. Corrin has a really distinct voice, that is not to deep and not too high. Many people comment that he would make a fabulous singer, but after all, Corrin has different plans for his life.

Always Wears: He can't see, so he just wears whatever you buy for him. This often institutes hilarity. You could hand him chick's clothing, and he would be none the wiser. However, he does have a short length of leather that he keeps tied around his wrist at all times. He says that it reminds him of “The Accident*”

Quirks: Corrin LOVES stained glass windows. He might not be able to see things, but if he closes his eyes and looks at a stained glass window, he says that he can see the colors. When his parents were alive, they had people make him small stained glass tablets of their family portraits, their house, and himself. Sometimes Kalsifur will make Corrin one for his birthday, and Corrin gets very excited, and might even be found staying up all night staring at them. His bedroom windows have long since been replaced with stained glass ones, portraying exactly what is outside of them.

Corrin refuses to get a cane or a dog to help him find his way, but instead has a pet tarantula named Jasmine, which can often be found crawling along his shoulders. I swear she whispers directions in his ears, because he never bumps into anything!

Corrin has an odd sense of Travel-lust. He will randomly pick up and go, sometimes for days on end. This confuses people because no one knows how he can tell where he's going, and because wherever he goes, he has to walk. Once again, I blame the tarantula.

When Corrin was tiny, people used to tease him because his names sounds like Corn. It's in your better interest not to, cuz you REALLY don't wanna make him angry. Like I said earlier, He's a fighter.

*Corrin's parents died in a car accident when he was 8 years old. He was in the car with them, and that's how he lost his sight [no, he wasn't always blind]. He smashed his head against the seat in front of him, and it knocked his optic nerves loose. The leather bracelet he made out of a piece of leather from the back bench of the car he accidentally ripped off during the crash.

Lovestrucker (her internet persona), is one of my best friends. She dwells among us.

Bother her! She loves it!

Fiora

Fiora is my character. She dwells with me.

Age: Fiora was probably 15 when she died, but she doesn't remember for sure.

Character Type: She's a ghost.

Abilities: Fiora can wield the air around her.

Most Prominent Trait: Fiora is, to put it simply, insane.

Other Traits: Protective, Irresponsible, Old-Fashioned, and Outgoing.

What She Looks Like:

Fiora has:

- Reddish Brown Hair that is unreasonably long. It reaches her waist, and is usually braided. When it is not braided, it is layered and tapers down to a point, much like an arrowhead.

- Fiora's eyes are entirely white- she lost her Irises at death

- A few freckles

- Fiora's face is thinner

- She is skinnier [not anorexic, mind you!]

- Fiora's nails are naturally dark violet [it's a ghost thing]

- A very pale complexion, even when She was alive.

Always Wears: Even ghosts wear clothes! Fiora wears a white tank top and black leather corset, a locket her twin brother* gave her, and white pants that disappear into sturdy boots.

Quirks: Fiora has always hated the heat, is grossed out by butterflies, and is afraid to play tic-tac-toe [don't ask]

*Fiora won't tell me how she died, but I suspect a house fire. She is mildly obsessed with fire, but most just think that she is a Pyromaniac. I think whatever happened was her fault, and that's why she is stuck here on earth. Fiora's family died with her, but they made it into the afterlife, unlike her. She obviously misses her Twin Brother the most, though she won't reveal his name to me. Someday, though, I'll get into that locket.

Kalsifur

Kalsifur is my character. He dwells with me.

Age: None. He doesn't keep track of time.

Character Type: No one knows for sure. Kalsifur has been around forever, changing form and shape with the wind. He doesn't have a true gender, but calls himself a “He”. ---"He thinks, therefore he is.”

Abilities: Telekinesis, Telepathy [but to him these things are normal]

Most Prominent Trait: Annoying. Being so other-worldly, Kalsifur has no respect for your privacy. To him, everything is only relative.

Other Traits: Kind [to a certain extent], Ambitious, Care-Free, Solitary [ He “doesn't exist” to people he doesn't enjoy the company of.]

What He Looks Like: Kalsifur can look like anything he wants. His usual forms are that of a Barn Owl, A Grey Wolf, Or a Human male. In His Human form, Kalsifur looks to be about 25ish, 5'11”, with green eyes and Long(er) Brown hair [shoulder length], and with slight stubble around his chin. ONLY A FEW of Kalsifur's most trusted allies have ever seen him in his True Form. Normal human eyes can't process what He looks like, so the brain makes up an appearance similar to a Sea-Green Floating Orb, that disturbs the air around him. THIS IS VERY RARE. DO NOT EXPECT TO EVER SEE KALSIFUR THIS WAY.

Always Wears: Kalsifur doesn't have any set outfit, because he tries so hard to “blend in”. Because he has no sense of time, Kalsifur has been known to appear wearing things like full suits of armor, arabian turbans, or formal suits. I'm still training him to wear jeans and a t-shirt, but he doesn't understand how that will help him leave an impression on my friends.

Quirks: Kalsifur does not understand the human race. He sees us as greedy, vain little monsters. When He originally came to Earth (from who knows where), Kalsifur was on a mission to seek out the worst of us and make them. . . “disappear”. However, being the Tender-Hearted [not a compliment] thing he is, he couldn't make himself kill anyone. He took a liking to the mountains of the earth, and has stayed here since, only leaving when, as He says, “He is needed back home”. --- Kalsifur cries every day at dawn, and he won't tell me why.
